Consulting areas
Advanced laboratory soil testing (triaxial, consolidation) and in situ geophysical testing (GPR, EM, Seismic):
Our laboratory is capable of conducting advanced and specilist geomechanical testing (static and dynamic triaxial testing, consolidation, swelling, small strain G, PIV, etc) as well as wave-based characterisation of geomaterials using Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR), Dielectric probes and Bender Elements. We also provide a comprehensive near surface geophysical in-situ testing package using Ground Penetrating Radar (50 MHz, 100 MHz, 200 MHz and 1 GHz frequencies), Electromagnetic Conductivity (0.5m, 1m and 6m dipoles) and seismic refraction techniques. We offer services to Engineering, Geotechnical, Environmental and Archaeological Sectors as well as forensic applications. [email protected] |
Geothermal (ground-source heat pump) design - Fourth Element Energy
Fourth Element Energy (4EE) provides sustainable heating and cooling solution by using thermal energy from the ground. We design, provide advice and project manage installations based on your specific project and energy sub-structures available. Our world leading software, developed at The University of Melbourne, encompasses design of heating and cooling systems using subsurface structures such as boreholes, piles, basements/car parks, tunnels, roads and concrete slabs. |
Soil moisture mapping (horticulture, dry land, grain) - AquaTerra
AquaTerra Solutions Pty Ltd (AquaTerra) provides an economical and unique non-invasive approach to measuring soil moisture content and soil temperature, enabling extensive and intensive land moisture mapping. The technology provides intelligence to de-risk farming managment, boost productivity, while reducing crop loss and water and energy consumption (for irrigated fields) and improving crop quality for agriculture. AquaTerra technology also enhances safety and sustainability in other applications, such as bushfire prevention. |
